It was a sad day for Buick and PGA Tour fans when it was declared that the Buick Open that concluded last week would be its last. The 50-year partnership between Buick and the PGA Tour has now ended with Tiger Woods’ fourth Buick Open title. Details on the amicable split have not been disclosed but it’s speculated that GM’s rumored restructuring has something to do with it. GM, after recently emerging from bankruptcy, has come out leaner and is seeking to re-establish the supremacy of its brands.
