General Motors Co.’s sales have been increasing. In fact, the combined Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, and GMC brands reported a 13% gain year-over-year in October. There was an increase seen in each of the four active GM brands. For the group, year-to-date sales are up 5.7%. Meanwhile, October fleet sales make up for 24% of the units sold for Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac. In addition, 242 Hummers, 83 Pontiacs, and 42 Saturns were sold in October. Year-to-date, Buick sales climbed by 55.4%. The boost is believed to come from sales of the 1634 Regals as well as the Enclave and LaCrosse, which saw October-over-October sales increases of 58.4 and 42.4%, respectively.
The only Buick whose demand had fallen is the Lucerne full-size sedan. Nonetheless, it still outsold the Regal, with 1810 units. For the first 10 months of the ear, Lucerne sales are down 17%. On the other hand, Cadillac is GM's other biggest gainer through the first 10 months of the year.
Cadillac’s sales went up 39.9% year-to-date. However, the hot SRX crossover sold 41,153 units so far this year, compared to 12,247 recorded during the same period last year. High sales were also noted in the CTS and Escalade ESV. Last month, the CTS was up 45.2% while 951 Escalade ESVs were sold, compared to 599 in October 2009.
