The ultimate protecting machine, the 2009 Bentley Continental Flying Spur, can be yours for 360,000 euros ($500,000) via global online marketplace JamesList. This armored version features military-grade B6-level protection and is fitted with ballistic steel in the doors, pillars, overlaps and sides of the vehicle, bulletproof glass, run flat tires, an explosion-proof gas tank and kevlar flooring. Other security options include a self-contained oxygen supply system and exploding hinge bolts to open the doors if a speedy exit is needed.
Director of Bentley Mulliner, John Killick, said, Bentley makes armored cars, not cars that have been armored is a crucial difference.
Subtle changes were made to the exteriors of the car so it still appears normal.
The suspension, brakes, traction control and stability programs were re-engineered and upgraded to match the armored body shell. The car, however, still handles like the base model.
