TOMS is popular because purchase of its products gives less privileged individuals some much-needed help. Now, TOMS is collaborating with German luxury carmaker Audi. TOMS designed and made exclusively designed sunglasses – all featuring Audi’s four rings – to be owned and worn by U.S. customers who purchase or lease a new or certified pre-owned Audi vehicle during the Season of Audi sales event, which happens between November 4, 2015 and January 8, 2016.
Corporate employees and fleet customers are ineligible for the offer. The collaboration targets to help around 50,000 people who need medical treatments, sight-saving surgery or prescription glasses. According to Loren Angelo, Director of Marketing at Audi of America, a similar collaboration occurred between Audi and TOMS in the Summer of Audi.
That collaboration resulted to the donation of around 55,000 pairs of shoes. Timed for the holiday season, the latest collaboration aims to support a program that will have a positive impact for people in need. Blake Mycoskie, Chief Shoe Giver and Founder of TOMS, remarked that the partners want to share the message of giving throughout the Holiday.
So, what is special about TOMS sunglasses customized for Audi? Well, these sunglasses are matte grey with stylish red and white detailing on the arms. Audi’s four rings can be found on the left temple arm. The exclusive Audi by TOMS sunglasses can be availed in two styles, Dalston and Florentin, and come with a custom fabric case.
The carmaker’s Season of Audi sales event likewise includes special edition A3 and A4 models. During the sales event, special offers will also be available on the Audi Q5 and Audi A6. After purchasing or leasing a new or certified pre-owned Audi vehicle from an authorized Audi dealer, customers will have to wait between six to eight weeks for the redemption code delivery.
But they have to provide a valid e-mail address. They have until April 1, 2016 to convert the redeem code. Offer is on until-supply-lasts basis.
In 2006, Mycoskie managed to become friends with children in a village in Argentina. Mycoskie found that those children had no shoes to wear. Armed with the desire to help, Mycoskie founded TOMS, a company that would make and sell shoes. Every time that a pair of shoes is purchased, TOMS will give a new pair of shoes to those in need, One for One.
In 2011, Blake launched TOMS Eyewear, which aims to help restore people’s vision with every purchase of sunglasses and optical frames. In 2014, Mycoskie created TOMS Roasting Co., which would match every purchase of premium coffee with clean water to developing communities. Early this year, Mycoskie launched the TOMS Bag Collection, which is aimed at helping provide safe births to mothers through skilled birth attendant training and birth kits.
