Top 10 Most Expensive Vehicles in the World

Most people, enthusiasts or not, often dream of owning a luxury car. While they say money can never buy happiness, no one will mind having millions or even billions at their disposal.

Who wouldn’t want the dilemma of choosing the right luxury car to acquire? Although the Rolls-Royce may be the obvious choice by many, it does not come close to the price of the ones on this list. Below are some of the most expensive luxury cars in the world.

1. Maybach Exelero - $8 million

Finally capping off all this list is the Maybach Exelero at $8 million. Considered as a legendary sports car, it was customized back in 2004 for Fulda Reifenwerke. It is powered by a V12 twin turbo engine producing 700 hp (522 kW). According to Top Gear, this one-off vehicle was purchased by rapper Birdman in 2011 for US$8 million.

2. Lamborghini Veneno - $4.5 million

Another limited edition that is part of this list is the $4.5 million Lamborghini Veneno. Based on the Lamborghini Aventador, the high price is mainly due to the fact that it is very exclusive with only three units were ever made.

Under the hood, there is a 6.5-liter V12 engine that generates 700 hp (510 kW) and 680 Nm of torque.The top speed of the Veneno is 350 km/h or 217 mph.

3. W Motors Lykan Hypersport - $3.4 million

Designed and launched in 2012 by W Motors as a limited edition, the Lykan Hypersport uses Porsche’s 3.7-liter turbo flat-six engine delivering 740 hp (552 kW) which provides it a maximum speed of 385 km/h or 239 mph.

What makes this amazing is that the headlights have the titanium LED blades with about 420 diamonds. It is valued at $3.4 million.

4. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport - $2.4 million

Breaking the $2 million mark is the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport which is valued at $2.4 million. With plenty of innovative engineering inside, this car was once considered as the most expensive supercar in India.

The 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbocharged engine produces 1,200 hp, a maximum torque of 1,500 Nm, while acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes only 2.5 seconds. Still, it retains the Guinness World Record as the fastest street-legal car in production at 408.47 km/h or 253 mph.

5. Lamborghini Reventon - $2 million

Reaching the $2 million mark is the Lamborghini Reventon. Launched during the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007, it remains to be the most expensive model from Lamborghini. It has two separate display modes plus three TFT LCDs.

The instruments are placed in a solid aluminum block under a carbon fiber casing and even include a g-force meter. On the interior, the seats are covered in brown Alcantara and black leather. Lamborghini Reventon has a top speed of 330 km/h or 205 mph.

6. Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster - $1.85 million

The Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster had a price tag of $1.85 million but what makes it even more exclusive is that only 5 were ever made. This vehicle was powered by a Mercedes-Benz AMG V12 engine that produced 678 hp and 780 Nm of torque.

Thanks to the titanium exhaust system exclusively designed at the Pagani atelier, the roar of the V12 engine is absolutely amazing. Top speed of the supercar is 349 km/h or 216 mph.

7. Aston Martin One-77 - $1.85 million

The next is the Aston Martin One-77, valued at $1.85 million. Aston Martin's supercar had a limited production of just 77 units, each powered by a 7.3-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine producing 750 hp and 750 Nm of torque.

Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is possible in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 354 km/h or 219 mph.

8. Zenvo ST1 - $1.8 million

Valued at $1.8 million is the ST1 from Danish automaker Zenvo. Considered as a ‘hypercar’, only 15 units were made and sold to selected loyal customers. With a 6.8-liter V8 engine producing 1,104 hp (823 kW) at 6,900 rpm and 1,430 Nm of torque, it can reach a maximum speed of 375 km/h or 233 mph.

9. Pagani Huayra - $1.8 million

Next is the Pagani Huayra which is also valued at $1.6 million. Named after the Andean wind god, it carries the Mercedes-Benz’s V12 twin-turbo engine that delivers 730 hp and an impressive 1,000 Nm of torque. The engine allows it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in merely 3 seconds.

10. Koenigsegg Agera R - $1.6 million

The list starts with the Koenigsegg Agera R which is valued at $1.6 million. This is apt for those who prefer speed as it can reach a peak of 418 km/h or 259 mph. The speed though is electronically limited at 378 km/h or 234 mph, but it can be unlocked to reach its full potential by signing a waiver.
