Top 5 Cars in Donald Trump’s Collection

Article by Christian Andrei, on April 10, 2016

It’s no surprise that the car collection of such an inimitable personality such as Donald Trump has piqued our interest. An American real estate mogul, a tactless TV personality, a former USFL franchise owner, a politician and now a presidential candidate under the Republican Party of the United States of America, Donald Trump can be regarded as one of the most famous, and often times infamous, characters of the past and present generations.

Because of his notoriety, Donald Trump has been labelled as one of America’s highest-profile rich guys. He has received both love and criticism from different kinds of people and is a brand that gets a ton of attention from the public.

Born and raised from a well-known family in New York City, Donald Trump has acquired the skills and has followed the path that his late father Fred Trump, owner of real estate firm Elizabeth Trump & Son, has paved for him. After taking control of the then Elizabeth Trump & Son real estate firm, Donald Trump has explored beyond the real estate business by building casinos, golf courses, hotels and many other properties and renamed the firm “The Trump Organization”.

Through the years, Donald Trump has become bigger and has become more knowledgeable in the art of business and a bit of social relations (I say bit because he has some notorious comments that have irked a few people but yet again has landed him into the limelight).

Trump was estimated by Forbes to have about $4 billion worth of assets; lately, he filed a personal financial disclosure with the Federal Elections Commission disputing the report from Forbes’ saying that it was underestimated. He has declared through his 92-page list of assets that he owns an “excess of ten billion dollars”.

It was also reported that the billionaire real estate mogul owns various skyscrapers, hotels, golf courses, mansions, helicopter and cars all over the United States. The man also owns a private jet with an estimated worth of $100 million.

He has also been known to be very fond of limousines but also has a taste for some of the world’s most expensive luxury vehicles and supercars. Here, we take a look at how this real estate mogul turned TV star turned politician likes his cars. We can say that his garage contains some of the fastest and most luxurious cars that have ever touched this planet.

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren

One of the most impressive and most expensive cars of its time, the 2003 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is one of Donald Trump’s most prized possessions. Priced at about $455,000, the 2003 Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren runs on a V8 engine with an output of 617 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque.

The SLR became the comeback vehicle for Mercedes-Benz into the supercar arena when it was released in 2003. It was a sensation especially among the rich and famous. In 2005, Trump, being a part of this wealthy few, had his own SLR McLaren delivered straight to the Trump Tower’s door steps.

Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud

Trump has always been known to be a very extravagant and opulent person; so what other car can match his “magnificence” than a ‘50 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud. He has been a huge fan of the Rolls Royce brand so when he first had a chance to get his own vehicle, he immediately bought himself a ’56 Silver Cloud; which is reported to be Trump’s first car.

The Rolls Royce is one of England’s finest and it has been known that the royalties of England have taken a liking to it. This might be the reason why Trump chose this vehicle. Interesting.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

It’s natural for a fan and collector to own as much as he or she can. Donald Trump, being the Rolls-Royce fan that he is, wasn’t satisfied with his ’56 Silver Cloud. He is also seen behind the wheel of a Rolls-Royce Phantom when he feels like getting himself the adrenaline rush he can’t get when he’s out and about making money.

The Phantom is customizable and can be built according to the owner’s specification. It is priced at around $500,000 and knowing Trump and his fondness for gold, his Phantom could cost more than its selling price.

Lamborghini Diablo VT

Designed and engineered to be better than the ’74-’90 Lamborghini Countach, Diablo was first released to the public in 1990. It has a 6.0 liter V12 engine with a top speed of 200 miles per hour.

Now, it is not surprising that a man with a reputation like Donald Trump would own a flashy vehicle as the Diablo. Trump actually owns a blue 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT with an all-wheel drive system delivering 530 horsepower on all four wheels making it extra monstrous on the road.

Being the extravagant and flamboyant person that he is, Trump had a plaque with his name installed on his Diablo VT’s door.

Chevrolet Camaro Indianapolis 500 Pace Car

Last on our list is the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Indianapolis 500 Pace Car. During the height of the popularity of The Apprentice in 2011, Trump was asked to drive his pace car at the 100th Indianapolis 500.

However, he never really had the chance to show off as he received a lot of controversial criticisms and had to step down as host due to some scheduling conflicts and was replaced with legendary driver A.J. Foyt.

It’s such a shame to not have seen Trump’s pace car in action as it is one of 500 Camaro Pace Car editions to come with a 6.2 liter V8 engine with an output of 426 horsepower; it also comes with a color scheme that matched that of a ’69 Camaro pace car.
