Cadillac CTS Coupe coming in May 2010

2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe

If it hasn't been obvious to you yet, General Motors' Cadillac brand has been trying to make up for its lost glory by hitting the public with one new model after another. The Cadillac brand was self-proclaimed to be The Standard of the World, and for a time, it deserved that honor. In the last 40 years however, it hasn't been consistently proving that it stood out against the competition in terms of quality and innovation.

Recently, we've witnessed the unveiling of the new 2010 SRX crossover as well as the 2010 CTS Sport Wagon. By May 2010, the sporty CTS coupe, which has the standard and high-performance versions, will arrive in showrooms. The CTS lineup gets GM's new 270 horsepower direct-injected V6 engine as the new base powertrain option, while the former 3.6-liter unit is now optional.

A GM spokesman disclosed that the two-door CTS would get the 2011 model year designation and would share powertrains with the CTS Sedan and the Sport Wagon. The coupe had been set for release this summer but GM's bankruptcy had led to several product-planning changes. [via ma]
