Cadillac is going full-speed with its plans to create a new entry-level sports saloon that will rival the BMW 3-Series. This detail was disclosed during General Motors' announcement that it will come out with 25 new models by 2011. This entry-level Cadillac will be available with rear or optional four-wheel drive. GM hopes to eat into the market of BMW and Mercedes.
GM President and CEO Fritz Henderson said that the company is determined to repeat what the CTS has achieved in this high-volume and highly-competitive segment.
He said that it's possible he will be bringing the new car to the UK. Cadillac is preparing five new models, including the all-new SRX and CTS Sport Wagon, while Chevrolet has 10.
Buick and GMC are also preparing 10 new cars, including a Buick plug-in hybrid compact crossover in 2011.
