No Paris Motor Show for the Nissan GT-R V-Spec

Nissan Gt-R V-SpecFew months ago Nissan announced that the GT-R V-Spec will be officially unveiled at the 2008 Paris Motor Show but nothing happened.

Due to this we looked for an answer and this came very quick: the new Nissan GT-R V-Spec will make its official debut at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show. The reason is simple, the Japanese manufacturer wants to sale more Nissan GT-R vehicles, because if the new V-Spec will be introduced, everybody will focus on the new version. The new V-Spec will feature a new braking system, lowered suspension, new carbon-fiber accessories (due to this the car will drop 250 kg) and more power, up to 530 hp.

2009 Mitsubishi Pajero receives new updates

2009 Mitsubishi PajeroThe Mitsubishi Pajero is maybe the most successful car from the Japanese manufacturer. At the Paris Motor Show the Pajero was present with a new engine update, this time a stronger one. The new 3.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel with common rail direct fuel injection was boosted from 160 hp and 381 Nm of torque, to 200 hp and 441 Nm. With these new engine the fuel consumption dropped with over 10% reaching a remarkable 9.3 liters/100 km, while the CO2 emissions dropped even further from 271 to 247 g/km.

Beside the new engine, the car received also a thicker windshield, 17 and 18 inch alloy wheels, a new Granite Brown color and a new Mitsubishi Multi Communication system fitted with a 30 or 40 GB hard disk. Also check the Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback Ralliart!

Video: 2009 Hyundai i20 makes its debut in Paris

2009 Hyundai i20The new Hyundai i20 made its official debut last week at the Paris Motor Show, in the five-doors version. The car that is going to be officially launched in Europe towards the end of 2008, is based on the new platform with a wheelbase that measures 2,525mm. When it will be launched, the Hyundai i20 will be available in three levels of comfort: Classic, Comfort, Style and Premium, featuring six airbargs, climate control, four-speaker radio with CD/ MP3 and keyless entry.

The new vehicle will be powered by: a 78 hp 1.2-liter petrol engine, a new 1.4-liter petrol engine developing 100 hp and a bigger 1.6-liter petrol engine developing 126 hp (all the units come with a five-speed manual transmission, but Hyundai offers also a four-speed automatic gearbox available with the 1.4 and 1.6-liter engines). Of course, the vehicle will have two diesel engines: a 1.4-liter engine developing 75 or 90 hp and a 1.6-liter engine capable to develop 115 or 128 hp (the 1.4-liter engines come are connected to a five-speed manual transmission while the 1.6-liter is available with an improved six-speed manual transmission). Citroen 2CV 6 Special by Hermes to be unveiled in Paris

Citroen 2CV 6 Special by HermesSome of you folks don’t remember but 60 years ago, on 7 October, an iconic car was born: the Citroen 2CV. With this occasion the French manufacturer decided to celebrate the 60th birthday of the vehicle at the Paris Motor Show, on 7 October 2008. In order to do this Citroen contacted Hermes! No, not the Olympian god from the Greek mythology, the “other” Hermes, a French high fashion house specializing in leather, lifestyle accessories and perfumery luxury goods.

As you may know already, Hermes already has a special edition of the Bugatti Veyron but this didn’t stop them to customize another vehicle: the 1989 2CV 6 Special. The classic vehicle got a new brown body painting, while the interior received new leather trim on the door facings, interior rearview mirror, gear knob, steering wheel ,driver’s sun visor but also on the two seats that are upholstered in Hermes grey-beige cotton canvas and natural leather. In order to complete this finishing touch, the bonnet and interior trim at the rear is now featuring new Hermes cotton canvas.

Video: Renault Z.E. Concept

Renault Z.E. ConceptFew days ago we talk about the new Renault Z.E. Concept (Z.E. comes from Zero Emissions) that was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show. We said that the concept is based on the new the Renault Kangoo Be Bop Concept and that is powered by a 75 kW (93 hp) electric engine which develops 226 Nm of torque.

The car comes with solar panels positioned on the roof which are used to power a temperature regulation system cooling the inside of the vehicle. Unfortunately at that moment we had no videos to show you the car but today we got lucky and have two videos with the brand new electric concept from Renault. Videos after the jump!

Paris Motor Show: Venturi Volage Electric Concept

Venturi Volage ConceptThe new Venturi Volage represents the latest concept launched by the partnership between Venturi Automobiles and Michelin and marks, according to the manufacturers, a big step in the evolution of electric vehicles. Yes, electric vehicles we said: the new Volage features the “Michelin Active Wheel” technology that incorporates 2 electric motors per wheel (1 for suspension and 1 for drive), meaning that the car has a total of 8 electric motors piloted in real time by spearhead electronics. The Volage features also an electric shock absorber system that allows it to adapt to any type of surface and driving.

At the interior the dashboard features a touch screen display where the driver can configure the vehicle entirely as he wishes. Due to the fact that it has only 1,075 kg , the new car from Venturi can hit 100 km/h (60 mph) in less than 5 second! That’s really impressive! The good news is that Venturi is already taking in consideration to produce the new electric vehicle and there are great chances to see Volage on the crowded streets.

Video: Lexus IS 250C

Lexus IS 250CAs we said yesterday, the new Lexus IS 250C is based on the IS sedan and features the same engine, a 2.5-litre V6 connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission and capable to deliver 205 hp. Yesterday we saw just some photos, but today we got lucky and received two videos, revealing the exterior and interior of the new coupe-cabriolet from Lexus.

The new car enters on a market segment where cars such as the Mercedes SLK or Bmw 3-Series Cabrio lead by far, but there are great chances to see this new vehicle near the two German cars due to the high quality of Lexus cars.Watch the videos after the jump!

Peugeot RC HYmotion4 Concept makes debut in Paris

Peugeot RC HYmotion4 ConceptAfter Citroen unveiled yesterday its GT Concept, another French manufacturer, Peugeot, revealed the RC HYmotion4 Concept at the Paris Motor Show. The new concept represents a real competitor to the Porsche Panamera or the Aston Martin Rapide, and according to the manufacturer this is an synthesis of ideas that demonstrates that respecting the environment and driving pleasure can be compatible.

The big surprise of Peugeot is under the hood, where we can find a 1.6-liter THP (Turbo High Pressure) capable to develop 216 hp but also a 95 hp electric engine. With a final result of 313 hp, the concept’s CO2 emissions were limited to 109 g/km in the combined cycle (or zero in electric mode) while the fuel consumption was drastically reduced to 4.5 liters /100 km. Paris Motor Show: Pininfarina unveils B0 Electric Concept

Pininfarina B0 Electric ConceptPininfarina and Bollore will start working together in a special project meant to produce a serial line of an electric vehicle which aims for the mass market. Programmed to hit the market by the end of next year, the car promises to have such technical features and a very good looking and original styling that it will sure be a great attraction. The car will be developed in Turin and will be powered by Bolloré’s proprietary LMP technology, making use of a combination of batteries and supercapacitors produced in different Bollore’s plants.

Named the Pininfarina B0, the new model will be a completely electric car with zero CO2 emissions and its batteries will be fitted in a special place designed for them under the car between its axles, lowering the centre of gravity. Photo gallery after the jump!

Renault unveils Z.E. Electric Concept

Renault Z.E. ConceptFollowing Nissan with is Nuvu Concept, Renault unveiled today at the Paris Motor Show a new concept called Z.E. The new Renault Z.E. Concept (Z.E. comes from Zero Emissions) has actually the same features as the Nissan Nuvu Concept, due to the Renault-Nissan Alliance.

Based on the Renault Kangoo be bop, the new concept features a design which has been adapted to the spirit of an electric vehicle. The concept measures 3.95m in length and 1.85 in height, perfect for using is it in your town. The Z.E. is powered by a 75 kW (93 hp) electric engine which develops 226 Nm of torque, making it particularly flexible, responsive and comfortable to use. Batteries are lithium-ion type.

Paris Motor Show: 2009 Renault Megane Trophy unveiled

2009 Renault Megane TrophyRenault’s Megane Trophy has received many modifications in the past three years since the WSR was borne (World Series by Renault Championship) and today we are facing a new fresh look, with a special design based on the new Megane Coupe. In terms of performance the car suffered some changes at its V6 3.5-liter 24V powerplant of the Renault-Nissan Alliance which is now producing 360 hp. The aerodynamic looks of the car is underlined by the front splitter channels airflow to the extractors and the rear downforce generated by the diffuser and wing.

The new Trophy features a FIA-homologated sports prototype tubular chassis, a mid-rear V6 engine, a semiautomatic gearbox with steering wheel-mounted paddle shift, double wishbone suspension with adjustable dampers, 18-inch wheels and Michelin tires. With a higher output the car can now race in times similar of a Porsche GT3. The new kit will be soon ready for sale and will be possible to use it for upgrading standard versions. Paris Motor Show: Nissan Nuvu Concept

Nissan Nuvu ConceptAs you may know already, the streets are full of cars and their number is permanently increasing. In order to find a solution at this problem, Nissan unveiled today , at the Paris Motor Show, the new Nuvu Concept. According to the manufacturer, the new Nuvu represents the future of the city car featuring an all-electric engine. The vehicle is built on a unique platform and measures 3.0m in length, 1.55 m in height, has a width of 1.7m and sits on a wheelsbase of 1980 mm. These dimensions are perfect for a city car but also provide all the interior room needed for the vast majority of city journeys.

At the interior the new concept features 3 seats: driver, co-driver and the third seat which, when is not used, is folded away into the dashboard assembly. Nissan also explaines why there are only three seats in the car: “We did a great deal of research into how people use their cars in the city. We found that for 90 percent of the time, the driver was alone. For five percent of the time there was one passenger and for four percent of the time there were two passengers. Ford Custom Ka sees light in Paris

Ford Custom KaFord revealed today at the Paris Motor Show its new Ka custom model available in three different and original packages especially built for the new version of Ka. Three different kits inspired on different themes, with special designs for both interior and exterior are translated in the Ka Digital, Ka Grand Prix and Ka Tattoo. The Digital Ka has a fresh look featuring patterned body stripes and green grille surround at the exterior. At the interior the car gets seats featuring patterned inserts with green headrests, green door panels, door pulls, steering wheel ad rings around the air vents.

The Grand Prix kit features at the exterior the same patterned body stripes with solid color grille surround and door mirror cappings which can be combined with a rear spoiler and white alloy wheels. At the interior the car reveals a sporty look with red seats and white headrests, red door panels and red leather trim on the steering wheel. And the last package, also the funniest one, shows an original tattoo design at the exterior, a large decal of the tattoo logo on the roof and a smaller one on the fender. At the interior the seats, headrests and door panels are colored in silver-grey, while the leather trim on the steering wheel is painted in anthracite. More photos after the jump!
