Rumor: Aston Martin DBS R in the works

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

Aston Martin DBSIt’s unconfirmed but Aston Martin is said to be working on a more extreme version of its lightweight DBS super-GT. Rumors originated from the tracks of Nurburgring where Aston Martin has been seen testing new aerodynamic elements for the current Bondmobile of choice.

Being speculated is a package that would potentially comprise a revised suspension, an updated body kit and some mild performance enhancements. Some are hinting that Audi could follow the same route as it did with the Vanquish. After it had been on the market for three years, Aston Martin released the upgraded Vanquish S. The faster version upped the 5.9-liter V12’s output from 460 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque to 520 and 425, dropping the 0-60 sprint from 4.4 seconds down to four flat while increasing the top end from 196 to 204 mph. Improved aero and bigger brakes were also part of the package.

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

Aston Martin DBS by H&RAs you may know already, the Aston Martin DBS represents the essence of British sports car culture and usually you don’t play with these things! But in the world of tuning everything is possible and H&R knows it very well, that’s why the DBS was a challenging project that were glad to undertake.

With their new suspension kit installed, H&R lowered the vehicle with up to 30 millimeters without compromising the overall design. The manufacturer also added its aluminium TRAK+ wheels spacers enhancing the flowing lines of the vehicle. Of course, all the parts are guaranteed and come with general permission for road use (ABE) or a TUV part certificate for German residents. More photos after the jump!

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

Aston Martin DBS James Bond CrashFew months ago, when filming the new James Bond flick Quantum of Solace, the Aston Martin DBS that was used, accidentally got crashed by the technician Fraser Dunn. Of course, it wasn’t a major problem due to the fact that the team had six Aston Martin DBS vehicles prepared for the movie.

As you can see from the photo the car was a wreck and normally that would be recycled. But the car, if we can say it like this, was lucky and was bought for an astonishing $350,000 (€255,000) by a crazy fan…we say crazy because the base price of an Aston Martin DBS is $265,000(€193,000). The big question remains: What the heck wants to do with it?? Video after the jump!
