2010 Porsche 911 Turbo sets a new record at Nurburgring

2010 Porsche 911 Turbo CabrioAs you may know already Porsche was, is and will be the ultimate sports car! Recently, the German manufacturer released the 2010 911 Turbo, a new version of the well-known vehicle fitted with a direct-injected 3.8-litre engine capable to deliver 500 hp. The new 911 Turbo went to the Nurburgring race racetrack and what do you think? It simply smashed the record of its predecessor by 10 seconds, completing the German circuit in 7m 39sec. Still, the record is far away from the 7m 27.56sec of the Nissan GT-R. Photos after the jump!

2010 Porsche 911 Turbo at the Frankfurt Motor Show

2010 Porsche 911 Turbo CabrioIn response to the enhancements made by rivals (Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Nissan), Porsche has revealed a more powerful, faster, and lighter 2010 911 Turbo at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Instead of a current twin-turbo 3.6-litre engine, the car now has a blown version of the direct-injection 3.8-litre flat six from the Carrera S. To increase responsiveness, the variable-vane twin turbochargers have been extensively revised and the intercooler and fuel system have been upgraded, allowing for a 20hp power boost to 493bhp. Due to an overhauled Porsche Traction Management system, the new Turbo should be more playful since torque now distributes between the front and rear wheels through an electronically controlled multiple-plate clutch. Rumor: 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo S in the works

2010 Porsche 911 Turbo SAll the Porsche fans know that the German manufacturer built Turbo S versions of the 911 range and it seems that the tradition will be continued. According to TeamSpeed, Porsche is currently working on the 997.5 Turbo S version which will make its debut in Spring 2010.

What is so special about this new car? Well, the new Turbo S will carry almost 550 hp, standard ceramic brakes, RS-style center lock wheels and a new bodywork which will reflect its power. More details to be revealed!

2010 Porsche 911 Turbo U.S. pricing announced

2010 Porsche 911 Turbo FaceliftPorsche has announced the pricing for its next generation sports car, the new 2010 911 Turbo. The coupe version is priced at $132,800 while the convertible is priced at $143,800. Powering the car is a 3.8 Liter engine that now delivers 500 hp.

Leading the innovations are a new expansion intake manifold called the Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) first seen on the GT2 and Porsche’s exclusive turbocharger system with variable turbine geometry (VTG). The Sport Chrono Package Turbo, combined with the new PDK seven-speed transmission, allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds. Also included in the Sport Chrono Package Turbo are Porsche’s innovative dynamic engine mounts. Top track speed is 194 mph for both the Coupe and the Cabriolet models. 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo FaceliftYesterday we showed you the brand new 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo Facelift and today we received the videos with the new vehicle.

For those who don’t know, we will remind them that the new car comes with a brand new 3.8-liter engine capable to develop 500 hp and to push the car to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds while the top speed is limited to 312 km/h or 194 mph. The base price without value-added tax and national specifications is Euro 122,400 for the Coupe version and Euro 131,800 for the Cabriolet! Watch the video after the jump!

2010 Porsche 911 Turbo FaceliftPorsche has finally revealed today the 911 Turbo facelift! According to the manufactyrer the new vehicle combines the substantial improvement in fuel efficiency and lower weight with more power, even higher speed and enhanced driving dynamics.

The new car comes with the new power unit displacing 3.8 litres capable to deliver an impressive 500 hp (368 kW). The first entirely new engine in the 35-year-history of the Turbo comes with features such as Direct Fuel Injection and Porsche’s exclusive turbocharger with variable turbine geometry on a gasoline power unit. This new engine can also be connected to the seven-speed PDK Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (Double-Clutch Gearbox), in order to obtain an even more spectacular vehicle. For the models that come with this new PDK gearbox, Porsche also offers a new, optional three-spoke steering wheel with gearshift paddles as an alternative to the standard steering wheel with its proven shift buttons. RUF RT 12 S - Porsche 911 TurboAre you in the market for a high performance sports car that also has complete road capability? If you are, let us show you the RUF RT 12 S for your consideration. Dubbed the new dimension of driving pleasure, the car has a refined biturbo boxer engine with 504 kW (685 hp) that develops a maximal torque of 880 Nm.

Developed by RUF and integrated in the ceiling is a roll cage that’s standard to the Rt 12 S. The front has separate LED alternative lamps for the position light and the turn signals. The car also has a discreet carbon rear spoiler with tearing edge, air ducts which are harmonically integrated in the widened rear fenders and exterior mirrors from the RUF CTR 3. Gemballa Titan ExhaustThe Stuttgart-based Porsche specialist Gemballa Automobiltechnik GmbH & Co. KG has answered the prayers of Porsche users who are desiring a more powerful sounding sports car with a new exhaust system for the latest models 997 Turbo and GT2. The new exhaust system offers a remarkably strong audio all over the whole speed range. It is likewise technically impressive since it is made from extremely light titanium alloys which is about 40 percent lighter than its stainless steel counterpart and can withstand extreme heat figures. Since it offers enhanced exhaust flow and come with 200-cell catalysers, engine performance is improved by an additional 20hp (15kW) and 25Nm of torque. Furthermore, the lower speed range has also been dramatically enhanced due to its response behavior. The two Gemballa-end pipes variants are adapted specifically to the model requirements. Apart from the Gemballa name engraved on them, the two exhaust systems are totally distinct. The exhaust system for the turbo model comes with 80mm double end pipe, while the GT2 equivalent comes with only one oval pipe 125mm x 85 mm in measurement. Switzer L4 700/750 Tiptronic PackageThe Ohio-based tuner, Switzer Performance Innovations (SPI) proves that they have more than one tuning trick up their sleeves introduced a milder performance upgrade for the Tiptronic-equipped 911s besides their previous 1,000hp bolt-on package for the Porsche 911 Turbo.

The new tuning package, called L4 700/750, is flexible enough for daily driving and was really intended to attract a wider customer base. On top of a regular 997 Porsche 911 Turbo SPI added its own bespoke DME software, two upgraded variable-turbine-geometry V3 turbochargers, fresh intercoolers and race-style full exhaust system. The consequence of all these upgrades is a sprint rate of 0-60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, quarter-mile crossing in the mid-to-high 10 second level, with top speed in excess of 200 mph. Techart GTstreet - Porsche 911 (997) TurboThe German tuner unveiled today the direct descendant of the Techart GTstreet RS, presented in spring, the fresh Techart GTstreet R which is based on the Porsche 911 Turbo design. At Techart, Isaac Newton’s ‘Quod erat demonstrandum’ (this completes the proof) stands for the challenge of refurbishing ‘Non plus ultra’ ex works vehicles with outstanding performance capabilities. The outcome: the Techart GTstreet RS patterned after the Porsche 911 GT2.

This noble idea is now being put into actual use in the Porsche 911 Turbo in the model of the Techart GTstreet R. The newest addition to the Techart GTstreet series, which has stood for unwavering sportiness since 2001, is therefore one of the world’s highest performing sports vehicles.
