Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

Subaru Impreza WRX STI CarbonSubaru officially debuted its latest creation at the Tokyo Motor Show – the Impreza WRX STi Carbon. The new sport hatchback, which is based on the A-Line model, has a roof made of carbonfiber, giving the car better hp/weight ratio and lowering the center of gravity. Subaru Impreza WRX STI N-Spec by IngsIngs, the Japanese tuning firm and producer of bespoke aero parts, has unwrapped a bodykit for the current generation Subaru Impreza WRX STI. The current kit is part of its N-SPEC lineup of bodykits, which comprises a kit planned categorically for use in the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. Apart from tuning cars, Ings is also taking part in the Japanese Super Taikyu racing competition, and the N-SPEC lineup of bodykits are patterned from the race vehicles employed in the contest.

The Impreza WRX STI kit comprises a bespoke front bumper made to match a new grill providing the vehicle a more robust look while heightening downforce. Subaru Impreza WRX STI 20th Anniversary Edition breaks cover in Japan

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

2009 Subaru Impreza WRX STI 20th Anniversary EditionIt is quite unbelievable, but the Subaru Impreza WRX STI has been with us in one form or another for two decades already. However, a special edition celebrating that fact was released today in Japan. Limited only to 300 cars, the Subaru will present a wide-range of modifications above and beyond the standard STI together with extraordinary badging and other exceptional touches.

The main upgrade has to do with the car’s handling. Special coilover dampers that provide a more rigid ride and faster transitions give the 20th Anniversary STI more bite, and a choice of color finish and 18inch cast aluminum wheels give the Subaru an unique and interesting appearance. A black lip spoiler gives a subtle but enhanced aggression to the front end, a black rear spoiler provides a useful bit of downforce, and special badging and door-sill plates substantiate that this is truly a special Subaru variant.
