1969 Pontiac GTOHave you ever wondered how can you control your car using just a gadget? Well, apparently a man named Dave Phipps thought at that before you and built a remote control system for his 1969 Pontiac GTO. The system uses a RedEye remotely system, Bluetooth technology and an iPod Touch. Using just the iPod the car can be transformed from a convertible to a coupe or turn on the engine and the stereo . 2010 Fiat 500C Pink goes on sale

2010 Fiat 500C PinkFiat’s 500C Pink continues the theme that was seen on the Barbie edition and the Pink special edition. The 500C Pink, which is based on the base 500C, is a mini-car that has had its roof removed.

More specifically, the 500C Pink is the base car’s “1.2 Pop” trim with a vibrant hue of pink. Standard equipment includes 16-inch wheels, chrome trim, body-colored door mirrors, leather steering wheel, leather gear knob, unique floor mats, pink-themed key cover, split folding rear seat, and Fiat’s Blue&Me infotainment system. Audi revises its R15 TDI diesel race sports car for Le Mans

2010 Audi R15Because of regulation changes that push for smaller air restrictors for diesel-powered Le Mans LMP1 race cars, Audi has decided to revise its R15 entry for the 2010 race. Audi is doing this with the hopes that the raised efficiency will prevail over a power loss from the new series rules.

Martin Muhlmeier, head of technology at Audi Sport, said that this year, the Le Mans regulations call for air restrictors with a smaller diameter as well as reduced supercharging pressure for the diesel-powered vehicles. Muhlmeier added that because of the reduction of engine power that came as a result of the regulations, the company has sought to the car’s aerodynamics more efficient. Continued after the jump!

Porsche Panamera Cabriolet: more details revealed

Porsche Panamera CabrioletAs you may know already, last week we revealed you the first patent images with the upcoming Porsche Panamera Cabriolet but today we got more photos with the new car and its unique roof.

You can see from the photos that the new car will feature a system that runs from a permanent fixed central roof section. The new car will come without the traditional B-pillar seen on almost all four-door sedans, but will require stiffening to the Panamera’s floorpan and bulkheads in order to ensure the structural rigidity and integrity. Porsche might be a leader in this new segment, because other manufacturer abandoned the plans for a four-door convertible after the move involved stiffening and added weight. Regarding the Panamera Convertible, it appears that it will carry roof made out of fabric hood. More photos after the jump!

Porsche 918 Spyder ConceptThe Porsche 918 Spyder plug-in hybrid concept made its world debut last week at the Geneva Motor Show. Dave Engelman, a Porsche spokesman, said that measures were taken to keep it quiet.

Bernd Harling, publicity chief for Porsche in the United States, even had to sign a nondisclosure waiver before viewing the 918. There’s less likelihood for a privacy leak since the car has a very short development time. The company only started planning it since last August. According to Porsche, there were meetings that included Wolfgang Dürheimer, vice president of research and development, and Michael Macht, president of Porsche AG and chief executive of the executive board of management. Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG RoadsterThe 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, the spiritual successor to the renowned Gullwing 300SL of the 1950s, will have a roofless variant too. The SLS AMG has offered some special and exciting offerings in the next two years.

Although there has been no confirmation yet, it is believed that a SLS AMG Roadster would appear at around late 2011 as a 2012 model. The timeline indicates that a year after, its sibling would enter the market in 2010. Spy shots reveal that the new model is a folding hard-top, similar to the current SL convertible. Porsche Panamera ConvertibleOk, this is not hot news because we already knew the fact that Porsche was thinking of a convertible version of the Panamera sedan but today this was confirmed by the leaked patents of the new car.

The new car will come without the traditional B-pillar but has required substantial stiffening to the floorpan as well as bulkheads in order to ensure sufficient structural rigidity and integrity. Regarding the idea of a four-door convertible we can say that this has an advantage because it offers the same interior space as the saloon but if Porsche will build this car… we shall see about its success! Breaking: Porsche will build the 918 Spyder

Porsche 918 Spyder ConceptPorsche boss, Mr. Michael Macht announced that the German firm will build the 918 Spyder, one of the biggest surprises from the Geneva Motor Show.

The new car will use a 500 bhp V8 engine but also two electric motors capable to deliver 218 bhp, which means the car will have a total output of 718 bhp. The car is capable to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3.2 seconds while the top speed achieved is 320 km/h (198 mph) plus. According to the manufacturer, the new supercar will be able to beat the record of the old Carrera GT supercar on Nurburgring race track. “There is no one inside Porsche who doesn’t want to build the 918. The response has been marvelous; we will ask buyers to sign letters of intent.” Michael Macht said. The 918 Spyder provides the answer to whether there can be high-performance cars in the future,” he added. Sources inside Porsche said that the new car will go on sale within 5 years. Revealed at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, this one-of-a-kind collector’s car boasts of an interior with avant-garde design elements. We see that it has a special center console that will hold TAG Heuer’s latest cutting edge concept watch to be revealed during a star-studded party at Baselworld 2010 in Basel on March 18. The car is also featured with a TAG Heuer Meridiist mobile phone and a one-fifth second Heuer Limited Edition Stopwatch. Jean-Christophe Babin, President and CEO of TAG Heuer, said that TAG Heuer, which has long collaborated with some of the world’s most prestigious racing teams, is proud of this first ever partnership forged with an electric sports car company. Babin added that this car is a match for high-performance drivers who are constantly in the lookout for products that are efficient, socially responsible and stylish. 2010 Geneva Motor Show: Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Grey Carbon

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Grey CarbonAfter we saw the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Blue Carbon, the Geneva Motor Show brought another edition of the impressive supercar dubbed Veyron Grand Sport Grey Carbon.

The new car comes with a different interpretation of the two-tone concept, one that first appeared on the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu. This time, the car features dark grey carbon fibre, framed whilst the bottom part of the car is finished in polished aluminum. The lower intakes are now polished in order to create a brilliant shine while the rims are the same as those on the Bugatti Pur Sang, with Ebony Pearl inner sides and a Diamond Cut face. Inside, the car features a silver colour on the dashboard, centre console, seats and interior trim panels. As the Grand Sport Blue Carbon, this car was sold too for an impressive 1.65 million euros (ex works). Photo gallery after the jump!
