Novitec Rosso does the Ferrari California

Friday, March 19th, 2010

Novitec Rosso Ferrari CaliforniaThe tuning specialists at Novitec Rosso have revealed a new tuning program for the Ferrari California. With this package, the car’s 4.3 liter V8 powerplant becomes capable of delivering 606 HP (at 7,900 rpm) and 603 Nm of torque (at 5,500 rpm).

This boosts the car even further than the modification pack that the tuner offered at the end of 2009 that made for a 500 Hp output from the engine. This much power was obtained with the installation of a supercharger that provides a 0.4 boost pressure. Novitec Rosso also gave the car a water-to-air intercooler, a special intake manifold, larger fuel injectors and a custom exhaust system, which has a system that enables the driver to control the intensity of the sound. These images of the SR1 clearly show the new design elements that are missing from the current Peugeot models. These features include LED headlights, sculpted bonnet, sweeping sides and a chiseled rear design. The SR1 can seat up to 3 passengers since its 2+1 interior is based on a structure that improves access by allowing the rear seat to slide forward. The car uses the Hybrid4 technology, which means that power stems from a 1.6-liter THP petrol engine, which is capable of generating 218 bhp, and a rear electric unit that contributes 95 bhp. When the car is in electric only mode, it transforms into a ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle). Official figures reveal that its combined cycle fuel consumption is just 4.9 liters/100 km or 119 g/km of CO2. Renault Wind revealed ahead of Geneva Motor Show

Renault WindRenault revealed today the brand new coupé-roadster dubbed Renault Wind, a new vehicle set to make its official debut in March at the Geneva Motor Show. The new two-seater measures 3.83 metres in lenght and has a highly innovative way of opening up.

Why? Because the small car transforms from a coupe in a convertible in just 12 seconds, an impressive time if we consider the usual time of 20 seconds from other convertibles. And this is not all, as the manufacturer confirmed the fact that it is the only car in its class to provide just as much luggage space (270dm3 VDA) whatever the position of the roof. For the moment there is no data regarding its engines, but we do hope to see the 1.6-liter engine from the Twingo RS (also on the Renault Twingo Gordini R.S.) capable to deliver an impressive 133 hp. Thursday, January 21st, 2010

2010 Lexus SC430 Eternal Jewel EditionProduction of the Lexus SC will end this July after having been able to reap the successes from its long run that began when it arrived in markets in 1991. To mark this event, Lexus has unveiled a special-edition SC430 dubbed “The Eternal Jewel,” which was designed by Toyota’s Calty Design Research Center based in Newport Beach, California.

The Lexus SC has seen only two major revisions, and it’s expected that this will be the last. The release of the Eternal Jewel edition for Japan is a dead giveaway that the end is near. The car has a limited run of 200 units and it features an array of interior and exterior color schemes with contrast roof colors, leather upholstery and wood-grain trim. To convince you of the car’s uniqueness, it has a badging and a serial number plate in the center console.
