2011 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG: first details revealed

2011 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG The new 2011 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG, which is slated to go on sale this September, is equipped with a new V8 that offers more power and torque compared to the previous year and yet it consumes 25% less fuel.

Mercedes-Benz revealed that the smaller displacement “M157” 5.5-liter V-8 engine powering the 2011 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG is an all-new design. It features direct-injection and twin-turbochargers to simultaneously boost performance and fuel economy. The car is then enabled to deliver 544hp and 590 pound-feet of torque. There is an available Performance Pack that increases output to 571hp and 664 pound-feet of torque. Continued after the jump!

2010 Aston Martin DBS by EDO Competition

Edo Competition Aston Martin DBSEdo Competition’s tuning package for the Aston Martin DBS only makes this sexy car even more appealing. Edo’s specialists fitted the car with revised ECU software, a new exhaust system, special catalytic converters, and high flow air filters.

As a result, the DBS records an output of 550 PS (542 hp / 405 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque - an increase of 33 PS (32 hp / 25 kW) and 30 Nm (22 lb-ft). The car is able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.1 seconds, and reach a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph). Edo also installed a high performance brake system, 21-inch wheels, and an adjustable sports suspension (which can vary the ride height, spring compression and rebound damping). For its interior, buyers can opt for a carbonfiber trim or exclusive leather upholstery in their preferred color. Photo gallery after the jump!

AMG 5.5-liter V8 Biturbo EngineThe industry has been abuzz with excitement since it was announced late last year that Mercedes-Benz, along with its high-performance partner AMG, is about to have a new range of more fuel efficient direct-injected and turbocharged powerplants replace its entire engine lineup.

Mercedes-Benz has revealed the official details on one of those in the range – an engine codenamed M157 – a 5.5-liter V-8 that replaces the 6.2-liter unit found in the current AMG lineup. This engine is able to develop more power and torque than the current 6.2-liter naturally aspirated mill due to its featured direct-injection and twin-turbocharging technologies. Brabus E V12 Coupe - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class CoupeAt the Geneva Motor Show, Brabus displayed its version of the new 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe that it has dubbed as the Brabus E V12 Coupe.

This car, which is offered on a limited run, is featured with a Brabus SV12 R Biturbo 800 twelve-cylinder displacement engine that develops 800hp and a peak torque of 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft). In terms of performance, the car is able to go from zero to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 370 km/h (230 mph) without being limited. Furthermore, the car can accelerate to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 9.9 seconds and to 300 km/h (186 mph) in 23.9 seconds. Continued after the jump!

Mansory G-Couture - Mercedes-Benz G55 AMGWhenever Mansory is mentioned, it never fails to capture the interest of true car fans. The German tuning firm has been on the news repeatedly for its unique creations, and this time, it has outdone itself with its release of the state-of-the-art G-Couture.

This model, which was designed with fashion designer Philipp Plein, will be limited to seven units. Pricing has not yet been disclosed but it probably won’t be a good idea to set your sights on owning one since it’s likely to be priced way beyond most people’s budget. Continued after the jump!

Hamann Conquerer II  - 2010 Ranger Rover SportOne of Hamann’s latest projects – the Conqueror II – is based on the Ranger Rover Sport. The tuning specialists at Hamann made several performance and styling enhancements to the SUV, including its interior.

On the outside, we see wing extensions made of light composite material, front bumper components with the four integrated LED daytime running lights and the carbon bonnet. 2010 Geneva Motor Show: RUF RGT-8

RUF RGT-8At the Geneva Motor Show, the tuning specialists at RUF have created their own version of the Porsche 911 with the RGT-8. What’s unusual is that the RGT8 doesn’t use a Porsche powerplant or a 911 Turbo engine.

Instead, the car is fitted with an in-house developed V8 unit. The 4.5-liter engine has a compact design and offers 550 HP at 8,500 rpm and 500 Nm of torque at 5,400 rpm. With this innovative design, the car weighs less than 200 kg. RUF gave the car a dry-sump lubrication system that is effective under all driving conditions. Continued after the jump!

SpeedART BTR II 650 EVO - 2010 Porsche 911 TurboThis is the SpeedART BTR II 650 EVO, the latest tuning package from the Porsche cars tuner SpeedART. The car is based on the 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.8l with PDK-gearbox.

SpeedART has come up with the new generation Bi-Turbo-Racer that possesses highly improved performance figures and an aerodynamic body kit. Power is enhanced by modifying the vehicle’s motronic to increase the power boost and mounted bigger VTG-turbo chargers, new sport exhaust with sport cats and twin tail pipes plus sport headers/manifolds, sport air filter and enlarged intercoolers. Due to these modifications, the Porsche 997 got an extra 150hp and 150 Nm. Continued after the jump!

ABT AS8 - 2011 Audi A8Abt Sportsline presented at the Geneva Motor Show, a reworked version of the Audi A8, nicknamed AS8. The new model show a more aggressive look with new front spoilers, nervous side skirts, a modified rear apron, rear skirt with exhaust covers and new 20-inch (or 21-inch as an option) ABT CR wheels. The AS8 is powered by a 4.2 L TDI engine capable of 380 hp and 880Nm of torque, representing an increase of just 30 hp compared to the standard A8. Photo gallery after the jump!

2010 Geneva Motor Show: Hamann Tycoon Evo M based in Bmw X6 M

Hamann Tycoon Evo M - Bmw X6 MThe BMW X6 M program, unveiled today at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, is a creation of the tuning specialists at German firm Hamann. The tuners say that the focus had been on performance and styling.

A modified engine powers the Hamann Tycoon Evo M, which provides up to 670 hp (493 kW) from 555 hp and 850 Nm torque between 1,500 and 5,650 rpm, a significant improvement to the initial 679 Nm. Hamann did an ECU recalibration and limiter removal, resulting to this SUV’s achievement of a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph). Continued after the jump!
