2011 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG: first details revealed

The new 2011 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG, which is slated to go on sale this September, is equipped with a new V8 that offers more power and torque compared to the previous year and yet it consumes 25% less fuel.
Mercedes-Benz revealed that the smaller displacement “M157” 5.5-liter V-8 engine powering the 2011 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG is an all-new design. It features direct-injection and twin-turbochargers to simultaneously boost performance and fuel economy. The car is then enabled to deliver 544hp and 590 pound-feet of torque. There is an available Performance Pack that increases output to 571hp and 664 pound-feet of torque. Continued after the jump!
