Lexmaul converts Opel Vectra to Bioethanol

Discussion about Ethanol is raging among both advocates and opponents of biofuels, and even green-car oppositionists, although it has a long history as a performance fuel.
The Opel Vectra by Lexmaul takes advantage of that history by transforming it to E85 flex-fuel capable for added performance ratings. The Vectra comes with a power yield of 270hp (201kW) and maximum torque on tap of 243lb-ft (330Nm). This is a huge leap forward considering that the production version only has 175hp (130kW). The ‘Stage 1’ program of Lexmaul for the Vectra comes with the conversion package, plus a bespoke body kit and Lexmaul branding both in the interior and exterior. A ‘Stage 2’ package brings in an extra improved exhaust into the mixture for 1,935 Euros. The fuel-flex is activated by a trick button that tells the computer to switch from E85 to standard gasoline and vice versa, consequently optimizing fuel maps. Apart from this system, it could fall into the trap of OEM-type flex-fuel system where it has to run a compromise map for all fuels thereby lowering performance and efficiency with gasoline, E85 or both. The price for the flex-fuel converter is just 899 Euros, but the downside to this is the limited availability of E85. Photo gallery after the jump!
