Caterham unveiled today the Roadsport 125 Monaco, a new special edition car which evokes the elegance, class and rich motorsport heritage of Monte Carlo. The new vehicle features Caterham's brushed aluminium bodywork, completed by a black nose and wheel guards, as well as a familiar red and white of the Monegasque flag form a motif which runs the length of the car.
Inside, the theme is continued with hand-tailored black leather interior featuring red highlights pairing with the black body trim in order to capture a “colour scheme reminiscent of the roulette wheels found in Casino Square complete the evocative '50s feel”. The new Roadsport 125 Monaco is priced at £20,995, but according to Caterham, the first 20 cars to be ordered are available for just £19,995.
What’s under the hood you ask? Well, there you find a 1.6-litre Ford engine which delivers a power-to-weight ratio of 227bhp per tone and provides a top speed of 112 mph or 180 km/h. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The car can sprint from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than six seconds. Options include the wide SV chassis and a lowered floor for extra comfort in the cockpit, while all black trim is also available.
