Now that Caterham has succeeded in attaining a European homologation it will be able to bring its Superlight R300 model all over the European region. Previously, the British sports car company only received homologation for individual nations, which proved to be both expensive and time consuming. In partnership with Ford Component Sales, Caterham has been given European Community Small Series Type Approval (ECSSTA) for its Superlight R300 which will permit it for the very first time to bring its products to the markets of Eastern Europe. Caterham considers this a resounding success and says that it has provided them with a fresh sense of freedom upon which to build, and expand their already strong export market. They are truly grateful for the support of Ford. [via autocar]
