Chevrolet announces Trax line-up in the UK

2013 Chevrolet Trax

Chevrolet is introducing one of its latest models – an agile yet fuel-efficient small sports utility vehicle with the name of Trax. Having a petite measurement for an SUV at 4,248 mm in length, 1,776 mm in width and a 2,555 mm wheelbase, the Chevrolet Trax features dynamic body lines that convey agility and movement. Despite its description as a small SUV, the Trax is large enough to carry five passengers in a comfortable high seating position. It could deliver car-like handling and could enable off-road capability when needed. The engine line-up for the United Kingdom will include a 1.4L turbocharged petrol unit, a 1.6L petrol engine as well as a 1.7L turbo-diesel engine. The 1.4L turbo petrol engine, paired to an AWD system, provides up to 140 hp (103 kW) of output and up to 200 Nm of torque.

The 1.7L diesel engine, which lists the AWD system as one of the options, could provide up to 130 hp (96 kW) of output and up to 300 Nm of torque. It will come with either a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The 1.7L diesel engine emits 120 grams of carbon dioxide for every kilometer traveled. All Trax powertrains with manual transmission are installed with Start/Stop functionality. As for storage, there is less to worry about that in the Trax, as it boasts of boot space of 358 litres with all five seats in place.

The Trax offers eight seating combinations, including a 60/40 split rear seat and a front passenger seat which can be folded flat. This gives a user up to 1,370 litres of load space. The Trax will be available in the UK in two trim levels: LS and LT. Each trim will feature a extremely high specification. The LS trim level features 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, remote central locking, rear parking sensors, front fog lights and auto headlights together with Bluetooth compatibility.
