Farhrmitgas.de created Moonlander, a model commemorating the 40th anniversary of the first moon-landing mission on July 20, 1969. Fahrmitgas, the official supplier of LPG systems for Chevrolet since 2004, creates from time to time individual concepts for special models or occasions. The Moonlander, which is based on the Chevrolet Captiva, is equipped with a dual-mode engine that operates either on gasoline or LPG. In LPG mode, the Moonlander achieves fuel-cost savings of more than 50%. The Moonlander comes in two versions: a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 136 hp/100 kW with front wheel drive and the 3.2-liter V6 with 230 hp/169 kW and a maximum torque of 297 Nm (219 ft-lb).
The 3.2 V6 will be paired with a five-speed automatic gearbox and permanent four-wheel drive. The Moonlander 3.2l V6 gets from 0 to 62 mph in 8.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 204 km/h (126 mph), all this with a 12% lowered CO2 emission level while running on LPG. Now it‚ the exterior that seriously went for the moon-landing theme.
The design was based on the Apollo 11 rocket and the Lunar Rover vehicle, painted in universe white and orbiter black the SUV has "Manned Mission Lunar Vehicle" decals on its side and the names of the Apollo 11 crewmembers on the silvery rear side windows. The car's performance is not to be slighted since Fahrmitgas prepared the SUV with a sport suspension that lowers the ride height by 35 mm, white-painted 8Jx20 ten-spoke wheels and 245/20 R 20 high performance tires.
