Details of the Chevrolet-branded Autobots used in the movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen have recently been released by GM. These autobots, which will be showcased at the 2009 Chicago Motor Show, include the Camaro-based Bumblebee, a Corvette Stingray Concept called Sideswipe and a Chevy Beat concept played by Skids/Mudflap. The Stingray concept is just a design exercise without a production model in view as yet although there are circulating talks of a C7 Corvette. On the other hand, the Beat concept which is played by the robots Skids and Mudflap is set for production as the 2011 Chevy Spark. Joining the cast as Jolt will be the Chevrolet Volt.
Chevy is excited to be part of the movie and with the prospect of connecting with the younger generation in their own turf with a actively eco-friendly image. The Autobots are representative of what is currently transpiring in Chevy showrooms.
Beginning with the thrilling Camaro, to the Volt, there's more going on at Chevrolet that is apparent. The Stingray concept car for example is an attempt to merge the past with the future here in the present and the Corvette concept received a no-boundaries design assignment pushing limits and changing point of views to come up with a totally unique product.
