The Volt plug-in hybrid is now in the recommended list of Consumer Reports after its 2011 Annual Auto Survey determined that the vehicle has greater-than-average reliability. Only a few of the 116 Volt respondents had any kind of significant difficulties during the first couple of months of possession. To be recommended by the firm, an automobile must perform well in the screening, have adequate scores in impartial safety assessments if included and possess average or better dependability.
In Consumer Reports' testing, it has been discovered that the Volt, which utilizes a gas engine and an electric motor, offers very low running costs in electric setting; swift, silent acceleration; and the equal of 99 miles per gallon overall.
However, it has restricted visibility and it seats only four individuals. A comprehensive statement on the new ratings for reliability will be available the following month and in Consumer Reports' December issue.
