Chicago Auto Show: 2010 Ford Taurus SHO breaks cover

The latest 2010 Taurus SHO has at last been revealed by Ford today and is set to be introduced at the Chicago Auto Show this week.
It is equipped with Ford's most current 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 powerplant paired to a 6-speed automatic coming with paddle shifters and an All-Wheel-Drive system. Maximum power yield is measured at 365hp (272 kW) and 350lb-ft (474 Nm), consequently making the Taurus SHO the most potent application of the EcoBoost system to date. Performance and fuel-economy ratings are not yet available but a sprint from 0-60mph in the neighborhood of 6 seconds can be expected.
The driveline of the Taurus SHO is updated with the integration of a partial AWD that engaged automatically with it senses wheel slippages. To maximize traction, an array of internal electromechanical clutches activates to distribute torque to the wheels individually. Further highlights on the car are fuel-saving electronic power-assited steering system (EPAS), a suspension which was sport tuned and comes with special shocks, springs, stabilizer bars and strut mount bushing with the standard 19-inch alloys. A SHO Performance Package will also be offered by Ford consisting of uprated brake pads, a recalibrated EPAS, a unqiue 'Sprit Mode' for the electronic stability control, and 20-inch alloys.
The Taurus SHO is distinguished from the regular sedan with its painted alloy rims, a spoiler mounted on the decklid and twin exhaust tips in chrome, a special grill and SHO emblem. In the interior are leather-trimmed seats with complimenting suede inserts, a steering wheel clothed with perforated leather, front seats that can be adapted in 10 ways, SHO logo on the floor mats and seat, and trim highlights in faux aluminum. Options offered include a rearward looking camera, adjustable cruise control, and the current Ford Blind Spot Info System and Cross Traffic Alert warning systems. Included as options are massaging seats, a navigation system that is voice activated, a juke box with 10 gigabytes of storage capacity and a 12-speaker audio system by Sony. The SHO is priced at $37,995 and will be built at the Chicago factory of Ford.
