2011 Dodge Grand Caravan R/T: official details, photos, specs and price

In an attempt to improve its minivans sales, Chrysler unveiled today at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show the brand new 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan R/T. As expected, under the hood of this car we find a new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine delivering 283 horsepower and a maximum torque of 260 lb.-ft. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Regarding the design, the 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan R/T comes with a new “dipped” body-color grille, body-color side moldings and exclusive 17-inch wheel. Moreover, the new car features new premium, lower-rolling resistance tires, a new spoiler and reduced brake caliper and rear bearing.

Also, it is with 12 mm lower than the standard Grand Caravan models. The interior features exclusive perforated black leather seats with red stitching, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. Also, the driver of the 2012 Grand Caravan R/T will see a new premium sound system with nine-speakers, a subwoofer and 506-watt amplifier.

The R/T model is available in eight paint colors: Blackberry Pearl Coat, Bright Silver Metallic Clear Coat, Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat, Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearl Coat, Deep Water Blue Pearl Coat, Stone White Clear Coat, Mango Tango Pearl Coat and Dark Charcoal Pearl Coat.The 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan R/T a.k.a. the “man van” can be yours for Dodge Grand Caravan R/T and will hit the dealerships in the Spring of 2011.

While the 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan still has the Stow 'n Go seats, this time they are larger and offer more comfort. There is also a fold-down function that can be activated with just a touch. It also now uses new premium seating materials plus the new door trim that are clearly soft to the touch.

The new steering wheel has speed control, navigation, and audio integrated to it. It even features a heated steering wheel option, the first for this minivan. Rounding out that interior is its offer of having the best storage for its class. To make sure that families continue to feel safe and stay connected, the 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan has more than 40 technology, security, and safety features.

These include the side air bags that are mounted on the front seat, the three-row side-curtain air bags, and the driver-side knee blocker air bag. Also equipped are the remote keyless entry, tire pressure monitoring, and electronic stability control.

The 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan is offered with the Safety Sphere package that has automatic headlamps, rain-sensitive wipers, Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection system, ParkView rear backup camera, and ParkSense rear park assist system.
