2010 Toyota Tundra

The 2010 Tundra is the latest in Toyota's lineup of big trucks and it is equipped with the powerful and brand new 4.6-liter V8. Although this powerplant won't be able to match the 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel or 5.7-liter Hemi found under the hood of Heavy Duty trucks such as those of Chrysler, it can still generate a tremendous 310hp (231kW) and 327lb-ft of torque. The good news is that the Tundra comes with a fuel economy rating of 15mpg in city limits and 20mpg highway due to the latest mid-range displacement of 4.6-liter V8. For those who require more power there is also a 5.7-liter V8 available in the Tundra range. Both the 4.6 and 5.7 engines are coupled with a standard 6-speed auto transmission. All Tundra models for 2010 get a modified grill and tail light design and the rest remain almost the same as in the pervious model. Available also on the latest are the Platinum Pack and the Tundra Work Truck Pacakge. The Platinum Pack includes a billet-style front grill with bumpers in chrome, 20-inch alloys, daytime running lights, door sill protectors with the Platinum logo and Platinum mark. The interior features power memory function on the driver's seat, power side mirrors and puddle lamps, and a steering wheel that tilts and telescopes. The package also comes with a moonroof with power tilt and slide capabilities, navigation system, ventilated seats with special leather top perforations, shift knob and door switch plates with wood trim, automatic up and down driver and front passenger windows, HVAC ducts highlighted in chrome, and headrests that sport the Platinum emblem. The Tundra Work Truck Package is aimed primarily at commercial buyers due to the absence of frills. The package basically focuses on delivery cargo and towing capacity offered with either a V6 engine or two V8s such as the 5.7-liter i-Force engine measured at 381hp (284kW). The large engine helps the Tundra attain a 10,800lb (4,910kg) towing capacity.
