Chrysler Group’s Mopar parts brand has entered a partnership with Fiat-owned parts maker Magneti Marelli and Shell Lubricants to be the supplier of maintenance parts and lubricants for non-Chrysler Group vehicles to Chrysler’s 2,311 dealers. Mopar CEO Pietro Gorlier said that last year, over 2.6 million customers with vehicles from rival brands visited Chrysler Group dealerships. Chrysler Group dealerships will be turned into a one-stop-shop for maintenance.

Italy's Fiat S.p.A. owns 30% of Chrysler. At a press conference at Mopar’s distribution warehouse and development lab in suburban Detroit, Gorlier said that from Mopar’s 20 warehouses in North America, Magneti Marelli will supply 26 product lines and 3,000 parts to Chrysler Group stores.

Currently, there are 10 lines in stock including products like filters, wipers, brake pads and rotors. The rest of the lines will go on sale towards the end of 2011. Gorlier said that the vehicles that they will be servicing include those from GM, Ford, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai and Kia.
