Chrysler drops the contract with Magna

Chrysler has dropped the Magna contract and will instead have its cars manufactured in a newly acquired factory in Italy, according to Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne. However, Magna will continue to deliver parts to Chrysler. It's believed that Magna has already built a considerable number of cars for Chrysler this year. Chrysler most likely made the decision due to Magna's impending takeover of rival GM's European segment, Opel. It is possible that Magna will be meted with another blow as Volkswagen is reportedly planning to drop its contract with them too.
