Chrysler Group will resume leasing

After a one-year gap, Chrysler Group stated that it will go back to leasing vehicles. President and CEO of Chrysler brand, Peter Fong, said that the carmaker is now prepared to offer customers the opportunity to lease vehicles at rates competitive with the marketplace. He talked about the benefit that it will give customers who like leasing for the flexibility this financing option gives them.

Chrysler Group rejoins GM in offering leases, with GMAC as the preferred lender. The reason that Chrysler was forced to stop leasing vehicles last year was because Chrysler Financial, Chrysler's preferred lender at that time, was unable to secure credit. In its bankruptcy reorganization, the auto task force replaced Chrysler Financial with GMAC as Chrysler's preferred lender.

However, unlike GM, Chrysler plans to resume leasing on all of its models. Chrysler even offers special lease rates on six of its models until the end of September. These models are Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Ram 1500, Dodge Journey, Jeep Wrangler, and Jeep Liberty.
