Chrysler is recalling 26,397 vehicles over steering fluid leaks

Because of the risks surrounding steering fluid leaks, Chrysler Group LLC is recalling 26,397 vehicles. The carmaker said that a fire is a risk due to a malfunction with the power steering pressure hose that may cause steering fluid to leak over a hot engine. In the Oct. 18 letter posted on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Web site, the list of affected vehicles include the 2011 Dodge Ram, the 2010 Chrysler Sebring, Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Dodge Avenger, Dodge Challenger and Dodge Journey.

In this letter, Chrysler said that it does not know of any injuries or accidents related to this issue. US safety regulators were notified of this issue earlier this month. The supplier of the hose is YH America South Carolina LLC.
