Because of the continuing absence of buyer credit for the American car purchaser and the resulting striking effect it has had on the whole industry sales in the US, Chrysler LLC declared that it will make considerable changes to the production calendar of its production operations. By doing this, the firm will keep production and dealer inventory in agreement with U.S. market requirement.
In reply, the firm said that all Chrysler manufacturing operations will be stopped at the end of the shift Friday, Dec. 19, and affected workers will not return to work any sooner than Monday, Jan. 19, 2009.
Dealership of Chrysler confirmed to the firm at a meeting just recently at its headquarters, that they have lots of eager buyers for Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles but are unable to finalize the deals, due to the absence of financing. The dealers said that they have lost about 20 to 25 percent of their volume because of this state of affairs. The firm will continue to observe the production schedules of its production operations moving ahead.
