Nothing's certain yet as Chrysler and Fiat are currently conducting a major shakeup of its product plans that are expected to continue within the next two years. At the helm of this shakeup are the expanding Fiat Group and CEO Sergio Marchionne. Already, we've seen signs of these plans with the US unveiling of the Fiat 500and Chrysler-badged Lancia Delta hatchback. Marchionne also disclosed that the Chrysler and Lancia divisions would be merged at least in Europe.
Various reports have indicated that a new Lancia flagship will be built at Chrysler's Brampton assembly plant in Canada in about 18 months. This new model, which will replace the former Thesis, is believed to be a large, rear-wheel drive sedan that has the same platform as the upcoming 2011 Chrysler 300.
The Lancia flagship will be produced together with the new Chrysler 300 at the Brampton plant. Only 10,000 to 12,000 units of the new Lancia flagship will be produced each year. With regards to styling, the new Lancia has many similarities to the Chrysler 300 bar such as the grille and other minor detailing.
