Chrysler will continue producing the PT Cruiser for another year

Production of Chrysler's PT Cruiser, a retro-styled wagon, would continue for at least another year, the carmaker confirms. The official announcement puts to rest apprehensions that the PT Cruiser has finally come to an end due largely to falling sales and its lengthy run of more than nine years. Peter Fong, President and Chief Executive Officer Chrysler Brand and Lead Executive for the Sales Organization, said that the heritage-styled Chrysler PT Cruiser continues to be a global success story and that the company is re-energizing the iconic and award-winning PT Cruiser. More than 1.3 million PT Cruisers has been sold in more than 60 countries since 2000. Production will continue at the Toluca plant in Mexico.
