Chrysler will invest $550 million in Mexico plant to build the Fiat 500

Chrysler will pour in a $550 million investment in Mexico to start production of the compact Fiat 500 model car by December. Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne, who also heads Fiat, said that the company will retool a production site designed by Chrysler. Last June, Chrysler emerged from bankruptcy under Fiat's management. Chrysler dealerships in the US will be selling the 500 as Fiat models.
