Chrysler has showcased a surprise concept at the Detroit Motor show -- the 700C. It is a futuristic design study that explores the minivan's future looks. The automaker is using the concept, which will remain on display during show public days, to explore reactions from people. It has sliding rear doors, sleek exterior and blinged-out wheels. The 700C follows in the naming categorization of the 200 and 300C.
One member of Chrysler's communications team said that the 700C is not reminiscent of the styling direction for the refurbished Town & Country. Its styling execution is one of many that Chrysler has created. It has also been known that there was no intention to produce the concept ride. However, it has at least one possible customer -- Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, who was seen checking out the features of the concept near the end of Monday's events.
Chrysler Group CEO Sergio Marchionne has clarified that the next-generation Town & Country will have no similarity to the current generation of minivans. He wants the next T&C to have head-turning and exciting styling. The new minivan is anticipated in 2013. [source: Autonews]
