Citroen DS3 R
Citroen's DS3R, the racing version of the DS3, will be priced at around €28,300 when it starts selling on September 1 in Europe. This variant is powered by a 1.6-liter THP 150 engine that is able to deliver 200hp and 275 Nm of torque. The DS3 R, which has a limited run of only 1,000 units to be produced, features a reprogrammed ECU, new turbos and a new exhaust system. The Citroen DS3 R also features a stiffer suspension, a 30 mm lowered ride height and upgraded brakes, as well as improved aerodynamics.
Carbonfiber is used on the exterior and is seen on the lower part of the front bumper, wheel arches and side guards. The hot hatch gets a special diffuser accommodating a chromed exhaust tip at the rear. The DS3 R is fitted with a bespoke livery. It has a body that is dressed in dark gray contrasting with the orange grille contour, wheels, door mirrors and roof. The roof also received a Grey-Orange racing flag theme. The car has bespoke decals on the sides and a distinct signature logo can be seen on the back. T
he top of the dashboard, the center console, door armrests and the steering wheel all have a carbonfiber finish. For a contrasting image, Citroen gave the car an orange finish for the dashboard, bottom faceplate of the sifter and its knob. Each vehicle gets a special number plate. New Alcantara-leather sport seats that feature orange stitching will accommodate the front passengers.
