It was made public by Citroen that it will be coming out with its most potent production powerplant to date in the form of the 240hp 3.0-liter HDi V6 unit. This summer, the latest common-rail diesel powerplant will be available for the C5 and C6 and, it is claimed, that it will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 15 percent and increase fuel economy by 17 percent in contrast to the present 208bhp 2.7-liter HDi V6. The latest Citroen powerplant, when installed in the C6, will average 38mpg, an improvement from 32.5mpg on the 2.7-liter powerplant and come with 190g/km of carbon dioxide emissions an improvement from 230g/km.
