Citroen releases images of aviation-inspired DS5 and the iconic Concorde

A series of DS5 holiday season pictures will be released by Citroen as a play on the car’s aviation-inspired design. The pictures, taken at Le Bourget Airport, France by Laurent Nivalle of Citroen Styling, show the DS5 posing under the wings of the Concorde plane, just like its DS ancestor. It was initiated by the ‘C-Forum’ Citroen fan club.

The Citroen DS5 won the Top Gear Magazine’s 2011 ‘Family Car of the Year’ award, thanks to its aviation design, aerodynamic body and onboard systems. Inside the DS5, one may feel like sitting inside a plane’s cockpit with its overhead switches, a head-up display and a roof with three light wells.

"Having already claimed Top Gear Magazine’s ‘Family Car of the Year’ accolade in the publication’s 2011 awards, DS5 stands apart from its rivals with its intelligent design, aerodynamic body and advanced onboard technologies. As such, DS5 embodies the finest in French luxury and brings motorists a truly exceptional driving experience." said the press release.
