Colin McRae’s Subaru Impreza enters museum

Colin McRae Subaru Impreza

Up on display at the new Riverside Museum in Glasgow is the Subaru Impreza that Colin McRae drove to become the world's youngest-ever World Rally Champion at 27 years old. The car will be the centerpiece of a display that celebrates Colin McRae's life. The family has loaned the car to the museum for the display, which will be regularly updated with further exhibits. Colin McRae and his son, Johnny, died in a helicopter crash in September 2007, along with two family friends. Jimmy McRae, father of the late champion, said that the family hopes the display will inspire a new generation of drivers and also capture a little of the excitement and flair that Colin brought to the sport.
