Corvette C7 making its debut in 2013

Corvette Centenial Concept

The smaller, lighter, and more advanced 2013 model C7 Corvette will begin production in April 2012. To whet our appetite, General Motors revealed a few details of what to expect. Foremost on the list would be the fact that the C7 would retain a front-engine layout instead of the mid-engine setup rumored previously. It is likely that styling would be influenced by the Stingray Concept featured in the latest Transformers movie and introduced at the Chicago Auto Show. When the 426hp Camaro SS (priced at $30,245) arrived, the 430hp base Corvette (priced at $48,565) lost a bit of its glitter and was perceived to be obsolete. To rectify the matter, GM set into motion the preparation for the 2013 model that would produce at least 450hp. We'll be on the lookout for prototypes in the next several months and we'll make sure to keep you updated.
