Daimler AG’s chief financial officer not sure about 2010 profits
Daimler AG is focused on working to achieve a positive group result in 2010. CFO Bodo Uebber told the Financial Times Deutschland that due to the uncertain outlook for global automotive markets, Daimler couldn’t take a 2010 profit for granted.
Daimler targets to cut costs by more than 4 billion euros ($5.95 billion) this year as well as in 2010. Uebber said that he favors increasing production capacity in the United States. In fact, Daimler is considering making the Mercedes-Benz C-class sedan at its plant in Vance, Alabama. The German newspaper said that further guidance on the outlook will come in February 2010.
