Even as the economy in general continues to be challenging, Daimler AG still expects that worldwide new-vehicle sales will be better than in 2009. Frank Reintjes, Daimler’s head of global service and parts, said that to acquire a “disproportionate share” of the market recovery,” Daimler will launch new aftermarket products and services this year, such as its new TruckMobility program. This service, which can be accessed 24/7, provides breakdown assistance to track operators in 40 European countries. This year, Daimler will be displaying its aftermarket parts and logistics capabilities. Daimler has manufactured parts; an online sales platform dubbed WebParts; the Xentry Diagnostics system for service technicians; and special tools and repair methods.
