Dany Bahar has been named as new CEO of Lotus

Dany Bahar has been named as the new CEO of Lotus and will officially take over on October 1. Bahar replaces Mike Kimberley who retired from the company last July. Before this appointment, Bahar was senior vice president for commercial and brand at Ferrari where he was responsible for worldwide road car sales and after sales, road car and Formula One marketing activities, licensing, and merchandising.

Bahar also held the position of head of corporate projects business at Red Bull, where he oversaw the firm's Formula One and Nascar projects. Bahar praised Lotus, saying that it has a worldwide reputation for innovative engineering and superb sportscars that lead the world in efficiency, design and dynamics.

He added that with the launch of the Evora, it means that Lotus is better placed than many to capitalize on the rapidly changing market. Lotus group chairman Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh said that with Bahar's track record in motorsports and Ferrari, the company believes that it has found the right CEO to enhance the Lotus image, brand and reputation as a world class sportscar and engineering company.He also cited the company‚ strong management team already in place, making him confident that this objective can be attained.
