Ford Logo

The Ford Taurus is known as the car that changed America's view of full-size sedans (according to the manufacturer of course!). For all the folks who loved the American sedan we present you the brand new 2010 Ford Taurus.

The new vehicle comes with a new design featuring bold new headlights combined with recessed parking lamps frame, three-bar front grille, as well as a lowered roofline. Also new wheels are available from 17- to 20-inches in diameter giving the car a muscular and athletic stance. New colors are available including the Candy Red Metallic Tint, White Platinum Metallic, Steel Blue Metallic, Gold Leaf Metallic and Ingot Silver Metallic. Inside we find the forward-leaning center stack featuring climate controls, audio components and available navigation screen.

Under the hood we find the Duratec 3.5-liter V6 capable to deliver 263 hp and 249 foot-pounds of torque (337 Nm) which comes with a choice of two new six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2010 Ford Taurus delivers a better fuel consumption due to the two-speed fuel pump and Aggressive Deceleration Fuel Shut-Off (ADFSO) technology. According to the manufacturer the new generation of the Taurus will feature later this year also the EcoBoost 3.5-liter V6 engine.

The 2010 Taurus features the new SR1 suspension configuration which not only that provides a better balance between cornering and handling but also enables the use of 19- and 20-inch wheels, reduces vehicle weight and saving fuel. Safety of the new vehicle was also improved due to the use of a new hydroformed cross-car beam embedded in the floor between the door frames, dual-stage driver and front passenger air bags, side impact air bags and Safety Canopy, a Ford exclusive protection system that features side curtain air bags, adaptive cruise control with collision warning, AdvanceTrac electronic stability control and SOS Post-Crash Alert, a system that automatically unlocks the doors, sounds the horn and activates the emergency flashers in the event of an air bag deployment.

The new 2010 Taurus, which will be available in the middle of the year, will start at $25,995 - the same price as 2009 models and will be manufactured at Ford's Chicago plant .
