MINI unveiled today the 2014 MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) Concept, a study car that previews the new high-performance model from the British manufacturer. Set to make its world debut in January, at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) 2014 in Detroit, the new car comes with an exclusive body paintwork in Bright Highways Grey, red colour accents, bespoke aerodynamic features and 18-inch John Cooper Works light-alloy wheels.
What’s more interesting is that the Bright Highways Grey exterior paint shade was obtained thanks to a special manufacturing process: it was hand-polished, then finished with a clear coat. The paint finish is complemented by John Cooper Works hallmarks such as contrasting red for the roof, roof spoiler and exterior mirror caps.
Moreover, we find Sport Stripes in Chili Red for the boned and boot lid and white for the roof. The light-alloy wheels also feature additional red accents. A red accent line also lends particular emphasis to the John Cooper Works logo on the radiator grille.
The exhaust is also a piece of art, featuring a chrome finish and the John Cooper Works Logo.
The front end shows large air intakes that fill the space reserved for the fog lights in the series-produced MINI models. The MINI John Cooper Works Concept also features LED headlights and a black surround for the front grille.
The study car further features a roof spoiler and additional body components designed to channel air efficiently around the C-pillars for optimised aerodynamic balance at high speeds.
