2011 Ford Mustang GT Nelly

Not many know that hip-hopper Nelly is a serious car guy so news that he and DUB magazine partnered with Ford Motor Co. to create a tricked-out 2011 5.0-liter Mustang GT may come as a surprise. Ford marketing chief Jim Farley said at the Detroit auto show that the car, which will go on sale this spring, is backed by an appearance on Nelly's upcoming album. According to Farley, the slick, black new Mustang is the result of Nelly's creativity with the DUB team providing customization. The muscle car is equipped with a new, advanced 5.0-liter V-8 engine that delivers 412hp and 390 lbs-feet of torque with expected highway mileage of 24 mpg. Farley, Ford's group vice president of global marketing, said that he had an opportunity to chat with Nelly after he had finished customizing a Ford Flex crossover. Nelly had asked him when Ford was going to bring back the five-liter Mustang. Nelly explained to reporters that by the time he was able to afford the 5.0-liter Mustang, which he had been dreaming of in high school, Ford had stopped making them. Nelly joked to reporters about telling his lawyers to prepare for the speeding tickets he would soon be getting.
