Created with no time or budget considerations, Eagle's handbuilt Jaguar E-type Speedster was launched at last week's Salon Prive motor show. Eagle, an East Sussex-based firm formed in 1982 and a restorer of cars rather than a replica builder, said that it has exploited "a unique chance to create an extraordinary motor car. The car is reminiscent of the Jaguar E-type of the 1960s with classic detail and finishing, including the Eagle 4.7-litre engine, a five-speed gearbox and optimized suspension. Every element of the car has been designed and built by hand, including the windscreen, aluminum body, and aluminum multi-spoke alloy wheels. The car produces 340lb ft of torque and weighs less than 1100kg. Eagle has not confirmed whether it plans to build any more E-type Speedsters.
