Enzo Ferrari Museum to open its doors on March 10

If you attend the opening of the Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari on March 10, the first exhibition that will stand before you on display is “The Origins of the Myth.” This museum complex is devoted solely to Enzo Ferrari and motorsport. It is located in Modena, Italy, which is Ferrari's hometown. However, the celebrations will start almost a month earlier on the birthday of the famous car builder on Feb. 18, 1898. He died in 1988.
Mauro Tedeschini, president of the Fondazione Casa di Enzo Ferrari, said that the Fondazione Casa di Enzo Ferrari worked on this museum for many years and that this “important cultural asset” tells the “story of a great figure and the vocation for motoring of this area.” First, they restored the house in Modena where Enzo Ferrari was born and where he had his living quarters and workshop. They constructed a new building that is formed like the well-known yellow aluminum “bonnet”. Yellow symbolizes the city of Modena and is the color selected by Enzo Ferrari as the background to the Prancing Horse, the company trademark.
Adriana Zini, general secretary of the Fondazione, said that The Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari is the latest motoring-related addition to the area’s tourist attractions, according to AutoWeek. She added that this museum will soon be a “cult place” for motoring fans and would contribute to cultural and industrial tourism. She said that this Ferrari museum would be “an international icon” for the city of Modena. The Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari will be operating in synergy with the Ferrari Museum at Maranello as well as with other significant motoring assets in the area just like the Marzaglia motor-racing circuit and the Righini, Panini and Stanguellini Collections.
