Europe receiving only one Toyota Prius

It was announced by Toyota Europe that it will not follow the lead of Toyota Japan by putting up for sale the outgoing Prius model together with the new model. Toyota Japan said that the current Prius model will continue to be for sale when the new version arrives, implying that there would still be sufficient demand for the outgoing Prius's 1.5-liter engine together with the 1.8-liter engine. But the same will not be true in Europe. This move is caused by Toyota's stock build-up from last year's economic downturn. The third-generation Prius will be on sale by June in the UK with the current Prius priced to rival the Insight.
