Facelifted Bmw 3-Series Coupe and Convertible coming to Frankfurt

2011 Bmw 3-Series Coupe

Before the facelifted BMW 3-Series coupe and convertible was displayed at the Frankfurt show, it was spied and photographed while being tested. No dramatic modifications were observed as these were limited to subtle improvements to its styling, spec and engine. Headlamps are new; they now feature softer curves and a kink on the underside was noticed as well. The front bumper was modified to allow for a more conventional and streamlined look.

At the back, you can clearly see the LED lights and a new rear bumper. The tail-lamps, while keeping its shape, now have raised sections in the middle and are all red. The car's previous prototypes have not revealed the revised front and rear lamps.

It is widely believed that the major modification would be the introduction of BMW's revised iDrive controller, which features extra buttons clustered around the rotary knob for greater ease of use. Engine choice is mostly unchanged (four petrol engines and four diesels) but there will be some alterations in order to improve economy slightly. The Efficient Dynamics tech has been tweaked to boost fuel economy, emissions and power and torque outputs.
