It was a great start here at Monza, and the battle between McLaren and Ferrari ended bad for Lewis Hamilton who was forced to abandon the race after a hard contact with Fernando Alonso. Button took the lead and he was closely followed by the two Ferrari drivers, Massa and Alonso.
Although it made a beautiful race, Button was overtaken by Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso. Still, Button kept Massa away from the second place.
Sebastian Vettel, the driver at RBR-Renault took the 4th place, followed Mercedes GP driver Nico Rosberg and his teammate Mark Webber.
Renault’s Kubica finished the race on 8th place while Michael Schumacher managed to fetch 2 points, finishing on the 9th position. The last place with points was taken by Rubens Barichello, the driver at Williams-Cosworth. 11th position was occupied by Sebastien Buemi, followed by VIlantonio Liuzzi and Vitaly Petrov. Pedro de la Rosa (Bmw Sauber-Ferrari) finished on 14th, Jaime Alguersuari on 15th, Adrian Sutil on 16th, Timo Glock on 17th, Heikki Kovalainen on 18th, Sakon Yamamoto on 19th and Lucas di Grassi on 20th.
These are the drivers who couldn’t finish the race: Jarno Trulli, Bruno Senna, Kamui Kobayashi and Lewis Hamilton. RBR-Renault is still the leader, in front of McLaren-Mercedes with 350 points vs. 347, while the championship leader is Mark Webber with 187 points, followed by Hamilton with 182 and Fernando Alonso with 166.
